Project leader Mohamed Elserji seen preparing to enter the water to supervise the lowering, positioning and securing of various aircraft to the ocean floor.
Decommissioned aircraft donated by the Lebanese Air Force are being sunk off the town of Saida in Lebanon as part of a conservation project to create an artificial reef. The sea floor here is barren, so the idea is to provide fish and invertebrates with permanent structures to give them a place to breed and shelter in order to increase fish and marine life stocks for fishing and tourism.
